Brokers hire 'parents' to fake citizenship proofs, with bribes skipping vetting—examples include mismatched birth dates like Hassan Mohamed Nur's Somali passport from 1985 Mogadishu versus his 2022 Kenyan ID claiming Tarbaj, Kenya.
The scandal fuels debates over Eastleigh's tax evasion and economic role amid 2027 election fears, as critics warn of voter fraud while supporters defend community contributions.
The relvelation has sparked a widespread debate across the country with majority of the citizens pointing a finger at the Government and castigating it for being at the forefront of the scandal.

On the other hand, some individuals from the Somali community have watered down the claims, stating that it sprouts from hat rather than genuine concern.
For example, popular political aspirant and Kenyan-Somali vocal socail media leader stated,
"Kenya owes a lot to the Somali Community. Somalis have enlightened Other Kenyans on entrepreneurship from real estate, Forex, textile, retail etc. Yet Kenyan gov’t subjects my people to illegal vetting when seeking IDs & Passports. If Somalis decided to pull their resources out of Kenya, it will collapse in a day."
