About the Job
Under the Programme Officer for Monitoring and Compliance, the Specialist Volunteer will handle these tasks:
- Research legal aspects of the Protocol and assess their application.
- Support the Secretariat team for the Implementation Committee's meetings.
- Develop an online policy toolkit for energy efficiency in cooling sectors, integrating it into a wider sustainable cooling initiative with various partners.
- Enhance the sustainable cold chain exhibition into an Atlas of Solutions by adding, validating, and organizing content with partners like FAO and Cool Coalition.
- Assist in fundraising and developing a communication campaign for sustainable cooling and lifestyles.
- Aid in the organization of Montreal Protocol meetings.
- Undertake additional tasks as needed.
Eligibility
- Age: 18-80
- Nationality: Must be from or legally residing in the assignment's country.
- Experience: At least 3 years.
Education & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Law, Public Policy, Environmental Studies, or similar.
- Skills & Experience
- Minimum two years in environmental policy, law, or environmental program management.
- UN or international development experience beneficial.
- Proven research, writing, and reporting abilities.
- Precision in document preparation and editing.
- Good interpersonal skills, adept at working with diverse groups.
- Capable in a multicultural, international team setting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, emails, internet; basic database management knowledge.
- Self-driven, capable of meeting deadlines independently.
Languages
- English: Fluent (mandatory).
- Additional UN Language: Advantageous.
